ID.me vs Yoti 2026: Two Quote-Only Consumer Identity Vendors, Two Different Geographies
Neither vendor publishes per-verification pricing on the public site. The choice between them is decided by geography (US federal vs UK / EU) and use case (verified-identity wallet vs age estimation), not by published rate. Yoti Sign is the only published product from either vendor, at GBP 0.40 per document signed.

When ID.me is the right answer
- You are integrating with a US federal or state government identity system (IRS, VA, state unemployment).
- You need NIST 800-63-3 IAL2 / AAL2 compliance documented.
- You want users to reuse a verified identity across multiple government and commercial sites (the ID.me wallet).
- You are a US commercial brand offering verified discounts (military, first responder, student).
When Yoti is the right answer
- You need age estimation rather than full identity verification (UK age-gated content, online gambling, social media age compliance).
- You operate in the UK or Europe and need a UK-headquartered vendor for data-residency and GDPR alignment.
- You want a published rate for digital signatures (Yoti Sign at GBP 0.40 per document) integrated into your identity-verification workflow.
- You want a self-sovereign identity model (the Yoti app stores credentials on the user's device).
The reusability discount pattern
Both vendors price below per-verification cost when a verified identity is reused across multiple sites or sessions. ID.me's wallet model means a user verified once for the IRS can re-use that credential at a commercial brand that accepts ID.me, and the commercial brand pays a reduced re-use fee rather than the full first-verification fee. Yoti operates a similar model with the Yoti app.
Neither vendor publishes the per-verification or per-reuse rate. The implication for budget: at high reuse, both vendors are materially cheaper per transaction than a single-shot IDV vendor. Get the quote.
What we will not publish
Third-party listings cite per-verification rates for both vendors. We do not republish those because they cannot be cited to ID.me or Yoti themselves; the vendors' own pages return HTTP 403 to automated verification. Contact each vendor for an authoritative quote scoped to your verification volume and reuse pattern.
